At this time a major winter storm is set to head towards the Mid-West region. At the time of this post, there are several winter weather warnings, watches, and advisories out. The National Weather Service Central Region posted the following graphic to social media Wednesday ahead of the storm:
Since the time of this image’s posting, several areas have been put under Blizzard watches and warnings. The storm is projected to start early Thursday morning and reach peak intensity into early Friday morning. The heaviest area of precipitation will be in Wyoming just to the east of the Continental Divide. Snowfall rates could reach values as high as 1 to 2 inches per hour. As the storm moves through the region it will persist into the weekend as it pushes towards the Great Lakes region.
